Do you like Commodore 8-bit computers? How about Atari 8-bit computers? If you answered yes to either question, the Commodore Computer Club has something to share with you!

At our upcoming October 1, 2010 Commodore Computer Club meeting, special guest and friend Kevin Savetz from AtariArchives.org will be doing a vintage computer presentation.

Kevin will show the three generations of the Atari 8-bit computer product line, and we’ll do a friendly head-to-head comparison of some popular games vs. the Commodore 64.

If you recall, back at our June 25 meeting we did an Atari 2600 verses Commodore 64 game demo, which was pretty cool, so having Atari 8-bit computers and doing game comparisons with the C64 should be a lot of fun.

At Kevin’s presentation he will discuss the history, future, and philosophy of his computer book and magazine archive sites, which include AtariArchives.org and AtariMagazines.com.

Kevin has written several books about the Internet, as well as more than 1,000 magazine and newspaper articles about technology.

Bottom line is we’re pretty excited to have Kevin do his presentation at our PDX Commodore Computer Club meeting. He’s a wealth of information on vintage computers, publications and so much more. Come to learn, come to share!

We have a lot of other cool things planned for the upcoming Commodore Computer Club meeting, so hopefully you can attend. Retro computer geeks unite!

If you know anyone in the Vancouver, Washington or Portland, Oregon metro area who’s into Commodore computers and programs, be sure to bring them along. We always welcome new people to the meetings.
